The Interceptor®-FV® is a completely passive isolation device designed to prevent the propagation of deflagration in a duct or pipeline. This NFPA 69 compliant flap valve features a painted carbon steel body with a mechanically retained open flap, which allows for easier material flow through the device.
During an upset condition, the regular flow is interrupted and flux of pressure coming from the opposite directions causes the Interceptor®-FV® to slam and lock shut, effectively preventing the dust deflagration from propagating to interconnected equipment or areas. The flap valve’s design allows the device to be effectively used in low dust loading applications, such as dust collection systems, cyclones, and mills.
